Mortgage application - how long?

I filled out a mortgage application online with Yorshire BS on Friday evening.

Does anyone know how long they take to process?
When can I tell the EA to expect a valuation booking?

Thanks.

  • I would imagine that they would credit score today or tomorrow and you should hear by Wednesday

I also completed a mortgage application online on Friday night, but with Nationwide. I was informed that a credit score had been carried out as part of the application and the next step is the valuation. Once the valuation has been carried out they say they try to complete the formal offer within 10 days.

So I too am interested in the OP question - however I would have thought the valuer(s) would contact the EA direct.

PS A quick thankyou to the forum member who pointed out that Nationwide are more flexible towards borrowers who are in a probation period - saved me a lot of worrying and heartache.

And as if by magic I received a text from Nationwide this morning telling me they have instructed the valuation to go ahead. I must say I am very impressed with nationwide so far (although counting chickens does spring to mind).

I am not rubbing it in honest :D but I have had contact with the valuers and my intended purchase is being valued tomorrow.

Also payslips, P60 etc have been requested and have been sent this morning so full steam ahead.

I think the fact they have taken the £605 shows some progress despite the obvious lack of communication.
