Cat with diabetes looking for good cattery in Glasgow - surrounding areas!!

Hi

I intend to get away for about 3 or 4 weeks sometime soon.

Can anyone recommend a cattery in Glasgow or surrounding districts? e.g. Lanarkshire, South of Glasgow etc etc

Any advice gratefully received..

Many thanks

balvie farm cattery is probably the best, they looked after our cat last year, very patient people and best value

  • Thanks very much. I will give them a call.

Do you know if they house dogs as well?

Its just that the cat is quite timid until she gets to know you and if there's barking dogs then she may not be too happy. Its just that I am a bit concerned cos I am hoping to get away for about 3 - 4 weeks.

    Thanks again.
  • I have a friend who has someone who comes in and spends time with her cats and feeds them while she is away. The same person actually is employed by all the cat owners in my office, I can get their details if you want...pm me...

    Hi

I know 2nd post on this but I forgot to mention that the poor cat has just been diagnosed diabetic so she requires daily injections.

Can any one recommend a good cattery ? (I can always phone them to see if they would take in a diabetic cat)

    Many thanks

I have never used them myself but the PDSA used to do a cattery serice. As they are very experienced they might be able to help with the injections.
I hope you find somewhere. I hate going on holiday and leaving my cats- hence why I haven been anywhere since 2005 !

I always use Avalon Cattery in the north of Glasgow. Drive out Balmore Road and take the right turn towards Kirkintilloch. Cattery is down a wee road to the right (follow signs for refuse dump). A lovely place, the cattery is indoors and they only take about 6/8 cats at a time. Lovely people and very caring. A wee home from home.
