Not in the slightest as I had one for my 21st two years ago! I made all my friends dress up as the characters, we just had loads of tea and cakes, try TKMaxx for unusual teapots as they seem to do quite a few and ebay is good for stuff like that too ( I got an elephant shaped milk jug). You could make a "rabbit hole" for the door, maybe with a big bit of paper or black paper streamers hanging down so they have to actually go down the hole to get to the party. Eat me and drink me labels on everything, and maybe just personalised things like the kids names on their places and the odd cake, have fun!0 -

Where are you guys?
We have an alice in wonderland themed place here :rotfl: They've renamed it Adventure Wonderland now, but it still has the Alice in wonderland stuff, maze, mad hatters tea party et al.

I did a post grad course at Bournemouth Uni, and used to drive passed it all the time as i kept gravitating towards the airport!! I was living with my parents in the New Forest at the time too, very envious of you as it is a lovely part of the world!

Yeah my mum still lives near it, I love it there although I'm only a couple of miles away. If I didn't think we'd kill each other we'd move in with her kids and all :rotfl::rotfl:
It's worth the trip, it's got a big indoor soft play so he won't get bored even if he has enough Alice or if it rainsMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I imagine your daughter's birthday has long past now, and you might not live anywhere near York or Harrogate but we've just launched Magic Hatter Birthdays, a company specialising in themed birthday parties and events including a magic show performed by The Magic Hatter!
We can provide anything from cupcakes, decorations, invitations, thank you cards and party bags right through to The Complete Party Package. Might be worth considering for the future?
I won't post the link here as it'll probably get flagged as advertising but you can go through our Facebook Fan Page (search Magic Hatter Birthdays) which also has a link to the main website.0 -
I've just come across this post and I'm sure DD birthday has long since past, but for anyone else that maybe thinking on similar lines, we recently had a 'Very Merry Un-Birthday Tea Party' for my DD's 6th birthday and it was fabulous!!
We invited 20 girls, and made invitations with the following verse, printed on bright paper and cut and stuck to oversized playing cards from the 99p shop, the kids loved them.
NAME Very Merry Un-Birthday Mad Hatters Tea Party,
Don't be late, for a very important date
or the Queen will see red
and yell 'off with your head!'

If your feeling quite MAD, we'll make you quite GLAD
Come in foolish attire, for all to admire!

R.S.V.P. by Date please to White Rabbit - Contact No.
Please come dressed as an Alice in Wonderland Character
or in your MaDdEsT outfit!!
I managed to collect about 12 teapots and enough tea sets with cup, saucer and side plates for all the girls for about £20 from charity shops. Some of the sets came with sugar bowls etc, which on the day we filled with jelly beans...again kids loved it.
I made a Tea pot piniata with paper mache using a punching balloon and then adding a spout and handle once dry. I also made 3 rose bushes from paper mache green tissue paper & punching ballon, cut out white paper roses and stuck to them, this was for Painting the Roses Red, we divided the girls into teams to switch the White Roses for Red...great fun, kids love cheering on their team.
We played musical chairs based on the move down, move down scene in the film.
On the day we were lucky with the weather and set up 2 pasting tables under the gazebo, covered with pink tissue paper, each girl had a place setting and we filled the tea pots with juice for them to pour into the tea cups themselves, they had great fun with the real china and amazingly there were no breakages....oh and we also made place mats by downloading pictures from a great site I found with screen shots and laminating them.
For the food I was lucky enough to have a friend who made a white rabbit cake, and we made the usual kids party food, plus cookies iced with things like 'Eat Me' and their were tags on the tea pots saying 'Drink Me'
It was a really good day and much cheaper than the usual playcentre parties!!:hello:0
