I had a phone-call from my Lender today I am three years into a five year fix and they offered to fix me in for another five years with no charges.
I am offered 5.34% for 5 years with a 5% early redemption penalty reducing 1% each year for 5 years. I think this is a good deal as interest rates are probably heading upwards. Any comments would be appreciated?
Thanks, Gin

Hi Gin,
What is your current rate?
Brittanias 5 Yr fix for existing borrowers is 4.74% at the moment with a £599 Arrangement fee. I would consider this offer very carefully.
You have to also consider things like possibly wanting to move in the next 5 years etc as well.0 -

A range of rates depending on ltv & choice of no/arrangement fee

What does your current deal revert to at the end of the fix? Is it a low rate tracker? This may explain Britannia's desire to change your deal and their 'generosity' may be a little deceitful.

I'm coming to the end of a fixed rate (5.99%) in May, and they have said that the SVR rate I will be on after May will be 4.24%. Wish I could get 2%! Their website is not very informative when it comes to displaying their SVR rates!0
