My first unsuccessful job application

I have just been informed that my interview the other day was unsuccessful:( I'm absolutely gutted!! I genuinely thought i had it in the bag, Because they had asked me to go home and come back with the documentation they required for me to start! I'm kind of hoping that it was a hard decision to make, That truly was my dream job.

I know where i let myself down in the Interview so I emailed them back thanking them for the opportunity to have an interview blah, blah and asking for some constructive criticism about my interview skills hopefully i will get some feedback from them.

Sorry to hear you wasn't successful but l will be honest and say that with so many people applying for job these days this may not be your only knock back.

    Best wishes for future applications
  • Better luck next time, remember you lost nothing but gained experience, the more interviews you get, the easier it will become.

Keep smiling and remember you were too good for them!

  • Sorry to hear you didn't get the job. Try not to worry about it. If they give you feedback on your interview, that's great!

Interview technique comes with practice and if this is your first interview in 11 years then it's only natural you'd be nervous. You should find at your next interview you'll be more confident :) I've had so many interviews over the past couple of years that I don't get nervous anymore. In fact I'm often told that I did a great interview but I didn't have enough experience. It's just down to practice.

You tried your best and that's all anyone can ask. Best of luck for next time.

That's right. There's nothing really to worry about it. It is your dream job yes, but I'm sure you'll find something more worthy of you. It happens to everyone.

Sorry to hear you didn't get the job. But like what they always say, if things didn't work out just as you wanted them to, there's always something better for you.

In order to succeed you must fail, so that you know what not to do the next time. Good luck on your job search! You can do it!

If nothing it's good interview practice. And I bet something even better will come along. I interviewed for a job at the council and I thought I had it in the bag, but ended up not getting it. Then I was offered a (temp) job in the NHS and I'm stull temp, but I'm on their own admin bank staff and love it.

I've just had found out that the job i applied for has been reposted! i'm thinking of emailing them, And asking if i could reapply. What do you people think, good idea?

I had already emailed thanking them for giving me my previous interview and for letting me know that i had been unsuccessful, Plus i stated that it had been my first interview in 11years i'm more than capable to do the job.

Sorry, but if they have re-posted the job then i would think none of the applicants were suited, or if it was mass intake then they only found some suitable people. Do chase the feedback and maybe mention you have seen the post re-advertised, but i would leave it at that. For feedback i would call as it will be at the bottom of someones to do list, esp if they are now re-interviewing
