Went to Tesco today and Yazoo was on offer the 475ml size bogof 69p each. Not too bad. They only had chocolate and strawberry oddly in the chiller down the dairy dept. So I went to the aisle where they are normally, which is down the longlife milk aisle.
Found them and guess what they were not on offer!!!, checked the bottles and the sizes all identical, except the prices!!!.
They are priced with a normal label not the yellow one at 40p strawberry 40p chocolate and 37p banana!!!!
The only difference is the barcode, the chiller ones had a different barcode to enable to bogof to come off.
I went to the desk to let them know as customers would get the items muddled up and to complain as it seems in order to get the bogof the product has been increased in price!!!.
I will phone tesco tomorrow, and I know what they will say, the chilled and the longlife are different products, but they are not. They are all longlife milk (sterilised), the only difference being the barcode and on the reciept they come up as chilled, when yazzoo is NEVER sold from the chiller as it is a longlife product.
I will post what tesco say to be continued............................

Your wrong, if you actually look at the ingredients of the chilled and non chilled they are slightly different
Non-chilled: Semi-Skimmed Milk, Skimmed Milk, Sugar, Strawberry Juice from Concentrate (1%), Natural Flavour, Stabiliser: Gellan Gum, Chicory Root Fibre, Colour: Beta-Carotene (Contains Soya Lecithin)
Chilled: Skimmed Milk, Whole Milk, Sugar, Strawberry Juice from Concentrate (1%), Stabiliser: Gellan Gum, Oligofructose, Colour: Beta-Carotene (contains Soya Lecithin)
So its not just the barcode is different, the ingredients are too.0 -
The yazoo website has all the ingredients and all their products listed
They only do one type. It is all sterilised milk. Which can be stored in or out of the fridge.
Infact the boxes in the chiller stated that it can go in the chiller or in the normal aisle.
Campina only do the longlife type. What ever milk is in the bottle it has all been treated so it is longlife.0 -
The 2 products are different in terms of yazoo, been like it for ages, different barcode = different products with different ingredients0
