Drawstring Laundry Bags

Does anyone know where I can buy these? I'm preferably after 2 plain ones. They are for my stepkids to take their laundry home with them. The reason I want plain is so they can either sew their name on or paint on them.

I'd be having a think about how I could adapt something I had already. How about making some from out of a couple of old pillow-cases or wouldn't they be big enough?0

I was thinking the same as BitterAndTwisted!
Or get a couple of the linen/cotton reusable bags that most shops sell in place of plastic and add a drawstring to them.0 -
Both great ideas, thanks. Pillowcase would be a great size.
Presumably I could just sew in piece of rope?Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
I made one for my DD out of an old cotton curtain. As it was in a dark material I chain stitched her name onto a piece of plain white cotton material and sewed that onto the front of the bag.0

Hiya, I bought mine in a cataloge sale a few years ago to use on holidays, you could look out for one. Before that I used a plastic bag.
A pillow case sounds a good idea as I would be conserned about it comming back to be used again. Oh now has a free p.e. bag with draw string top.
Do you now wash the clothes for the children? Or prehaps they do not stay long enough to get them dry.:)If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

We dont wash the clothes for the kids, its normally weekend visits. We've been told to keep the washing seperatly from now on so I thought this would be a good idea. We currently just shove it in a carrier but as I now dont use them and all the old ones gone I wanted something more permanentLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
I'd just use an old pillow case and see if it comes back. When that practice is established then you/they could work on decorating/labelling them. Oh and when you say 'you've been told to keep stuff separate', separate from what? It sounds rude and bossy to me * insert rolls eyes smilie*0

This is the one I made

Oh dont worry, if I am going to this trouble I would send a note asking for them back. Keeping it seperate? You tell me, I can only assume its because SD is now 13. They still end up in the washing machine together.:DLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Oh, I definitely think the "keep them separate" instruction meant keeping the clean clothes separate from the ones which need to be laundered. Or perhaps one child's clothes need to be washed in non-bio or something.
I reckon a drawstring for the pillow-cases could be made either from using some curtain-header wotsit or by stitching two channels at the top of each pillow-case and threading some tape or even string through them. Now, if you have some fun fabric-remnants or a means of acquiring some all sorts of options for creativity looms. I'm not a competent seamstress by any means but I reckon I could make one by hand quite easily.0
