I bought £25 worth of PBs between 1982 and 1984.
I have only ever had one win of £50 and it took 12 years to win.
DD has £200 worth and has never won a thing.0 -
We have a syndicate at work where 10 of us put in £15 per monthy. Been going a few (very few) years and we've had around £250 all in winnings. Still hoping for the big retirement win...
Makes more sense than the lottery though. At least we can always get something back at the end.

Sort of Investment bonds.
Minimum purchase is £100 {each valued @ £1} to a maximum holding of £30,000.
Draws are held every month. Top prize is 2 x £1million. Other prizes range from around a million at £50 to four at £100,000.
As well as you holding the value of bonds as purchased, you get an individual holders number, so goto http://www.nsandi.com/products/pb/haveYouWon.jsp to check.
Top prizes are usually posted on site within two Working days, and the rest 5 ish working days.
Unlike a lottery, you can cash them in.
Chances of winning ? INVESTORS in Premium Bonds will have less chance of winning the big prizes after June 1 when the prize fund rate drops from 3% to 2.95%.
