The current title specs for this group make no sense.
    "E: day/month prize"

Ordering them will give for example:
    E: 02/04 (2 April 2010)
    E: 10/02 (10 Febuary 2011)
    E: 21/01 (21 January 2010)

A better method would be to have month first so that they will sort into the correct order (and maybe add year if needed for a more robust spec). This is known as the ISO8601 date standard (International Standards Organisation). "E: year/month/day prize"

Threads would then sort into correct chronological order when alpha-sorted:
    E: 2010/01/21 (21 January 2010)
    E: 2010/04/02 (2 April 2010)
    E: 2011/02/10 (10 Febuary 2011)

Is there any chance on maybe using this standard (the currernt international standard) so that we dont need to look through old posts and posts from EVERY month just to see this months ending ones, etc?

Trammel: Just sort the threads by name and then by ascending order?? You should have a look at the comping guide, it explains a lot :)

Fine thanks sweetie! ;) Fab win you got earlier! :j Hope you got room for a 50" :D I bet you were dancing round the room when you got the call!

Trammel, its not hard work once you get used to it. Just scroll at bottom of page and use 'thread title' and ascending/descending.

I did, and it gives the erronous type of sort that my post was about... where its sorted on DAY first... then month, so it groups all days together and pretty-much ignores that the dates 24/02 and 24/03 arent supposed to be near eachother, etc.

Using the international date standard would fix this and organise the ending dates into correct chronological order.
  • Not sure what's happened regarding Diva but know she obviously needs hugs so here's plenty for you hun ((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))

Whilst we were away a collegue of DH's was admitted in hospital with suspected TB, today he's been diagnosed with cancer in 3 places including Liver & Brain :( DH is in pieces at the moment, he's scared to go see him since it's still so soon since he was visiting the hospital with his Grandma but been told he doesn't have long left with us. Really don't know what to do to comfort DH & many of his work collegues are going to see him so DH feels like he has to explain to a lot of people why he can't face going.

Aw sorry to hear about your OH 's colleague. I can understand his reasons for not wanting to visit the hospital but on the other hand, will he regret not going if the inevitable happens? xx
