As an ex manager of a well known bookies, with over 20 years experience in the business, I'll just say keep your money in your purse/pocket it's much safer there... believe me.

You are absolutely right, few years ago when I used to have good wages (sigh), I spent over £700 within a week or two in the Roullette machine and I stopped since then almost altogether...I think I was a bit depressed with my study etc

I only do a couple of bets every now and then but I prefer competitions ...and love it here. I am converted :beer: x

I only ever bet on the National nowadays, about £20 total stake which includes a couple of reversed forecasts, e/ways, tricasts type bets.
Was fairly lucky last year as I had a decent priced 2nd, 3rd or 4th placed horse (can't remember the name or price, but got my stake back and a little more as I recall) My beautiful eldest son went to Aintree for last years Grand National and placed the bets for me... :T

I have a smashing piccie of him taken by his mate at the meeting which I have as my wallpaper on my laptop... :j It's a very special pic for me as he hates his photo being taken even though he's bloomin handsome young man (sorry biased I know, but he's my first born baby) and he doesn't let me take his photo even a Christmas... :eek:

I just found 4 online receipts in my email for paid bills which I entered in the visa comp (Hope these count)..got a right telling off from him asking him to look for his receipts at this late hour....men! they only like it when we win! :cool:

Sorry not logged in for a few days, my brother and his family are on the move again tomorrow, theyre driving to Australia :eek:

He's never been able to settle bless him, he lived in France for about 7 yrs hes a reg. plumber and got itchy feet so applied to Oz theyve accepted him so hes off to Oz, i now call him Charlie Boorman, as hes going the Long Way Round by driving there LOL


Had a very bad month aka wins, but heyho im looking on the bright side and we've all still got our good health :beer:

Just listening to the news theres been a huge coach crash in Lanarkshire school kids on a day trip to Alton Towers
