My mum's going through this at the moment, though not had any hair issues as yet.

Maybe go see your GP and see if they can advise any hormonal pills for you? just hazarding a guess but I'd imagine its loss of hormones that reduce hair growth.

Other options are to get a tattoo, become a make up artist pro or employ a make up artist (though not very MSE!) As your upset by it (otherwise Id say try to ignore/rise above) I'd start with your GP and any hormonal replacement pills.

Hope you get on OK and hopefully someone with more experience will be along shortly to offer more help then me!

Losing part of the eyebrows can be a symptom of an underactive thyroid. You could see if you have any of the other symptoms and if so, it can be checked with a simple blood test from your GP.
  • Yes, I agree with pattycake. I was going through the menopause and had these symptons, found out had underactive thyroid gland. A lot of the symptoms are the same.
