According to http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Employees/EmploymentContractsAndConditions/DG_10027521It won't be the county courts you need it will be an employment tribunal.
you can use either.0 -
I would use the employment as it's an employment dispute and they act quicker with acas's envolvement with their mediation service. You also won't have to pay the county court fees.
Regarding time periods, you have 3 months from your last day. Or raise a grievance within these 3 months and the limit is extended to a further 3 months from the grievance date.0 -
Hi guys.
My boss called around to my house and dropped me my 'wages' off in an envolope.
Their was £400 inside it. I am grateful of the cash but £400 for 4 weeks work isn't even minimum wage for my age.
I can't believe how unprofessional this company is. I really don't think I'll be going back Monday now, too much hassle and I don't want to get into another argument regarding pay.0 -
How much should you have got for the 4 weeks work, i had read the thread the other day and i was going to post to say to give it time but after reading your last reply i think maybe your right to not go back in on monday. Theres a few things that have you thoguht about like What about giving notice ? what about getting a reference from the boss or is that not a good idea ?0

Hiya,
Just to let ytou know you dont have to put up with this.
I was in a similar situation apart from a few years younger than you. I was 17 with my first job. I stuck it out for 6 months, only got paid twice in that time but stuck it out. When time came I was nearly 18 he sacked me for no reason, with wages and holiday pay still oweing.
I wrote to them demanding (in nice words) my pay slips, the money I was owed, and my p45.
I took me 2 months to get it out of them, under threat of me tkaing them to court.
I beleive you should be paid £4.83 an hour. Depending on how many hours you worked obviously would depend on the total amount. At this amount you would have to have worked 83ish hours to get £400. Thats 20 and 3/4 hours a week.0
