You need to start from scratch with everything, forget the CMC - they will have said almost anything, so send the CCA request again so you can see for yourself what they have!
Thanks Niddy,
Should I send the CCA requests to Vanquis or the 101 DCA's that have been chasing me?0 -

Me again, sorry.
Re these 4 no replies, not sure if you remember but I'd sent out the CCA's without my address on, obviously the others have managed to respond, just asking if I should still just sit and wait for these ones bearing that in mind ?

Ahhh - ok send the reminder with a copy of the CCA request attached as well (this time adding your address).... give them a full month to respond... no rush.

Hi Niddy,
I guess I should have posted in this thread in the first place - just been finding my way around the forum again recently
I posted yesterday regarding a letter (and now visit) from Meritforce (on behalf of Aktiv Capital) who are chasing me for an old credit card debt (they've already had some scary looking guy knocking on my door this morning, I didn't answer it!)
The details:
- credit card debt (under £900)
- last acknowledgement from me circa 1999/2000
There have been a variety of DCA's chasing me by letter over the last 10 years but I've just ignored them... Plus I've moved around so much I guess I've just been avoiding it. Plus having checked my credit file there is no CCJ or default - the only thing I can see is 'unrecorded enquiries' from a Lowell Financial (another DCA I assume). Seems they are selling these debts again and again!
Anyway, it's time I sorted this out and was recommended to send the Statute Barred letter by some of guys on here (big thanks) - but someone mentioned that there could be a CCJ, in which case I guess it's not Statute Barred anymore? Could that be the case? And if so what could happen to me? Can I be defaulted (or affect my credit file) for a debt this old?
I just want to be sure before I send the letter
Thanks experts!:):)

Have they sent a CCA - it does not need to be signed. Please clarify.
Hi - I sent a request for the CCA and they returned paperwork to me which did not contain my signiture in any box ( no box at all actually ) just 3 pages of T a C`s ( this alleged agreement was pre 2007 )
RegardsAs Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0
