Don't want to hid away from my debt any more!!

I split up with my wife in April, moved out I stopped paying my credit cards, loans and overdraft.

I have left my job, moved out the area and now have no idea what my debts are or what to do about them.

I am now working again but as a temp, I have no fix place to live!!!

In a real mess HELP!!!

  • Hi RWM -

Firstly well done on facing upto you debts, i think the first thing you need to do is try and get your head around your debts, you need to sit down and make a list of all your debts once you know what you are dealing with you will be able to tackle it.

Once you have made the list, post them up and we can try and help you xx

Calm down and relax. There are loads of lovely people on here that will be able to help,
Try looking up national debtline, cccs and payplan for some good advice.
Also if you post a statement of affairs [SOA] with your incomings and outgoings people will be able to advise you if there are any potential savings to be made;)

well done for taking the first step and posting

Well done for accepting to deal with it.

Getting your statutory credit reports from the 3 agencies (3 x £2) = £6 will hopefully help you see where you are. Getting the report will update to your current address so you may get debt collect letters shortly after getting your report.

    Equifax - http://www.equifax.co.uk/Products/credit/statutory-report.html

National Debtline and CCCS are top places to go for free professional advice on debts, i advise you give 1 or both a call and see what they have to say.

You are going to have default on these debts by not paying, as such you will be looking at making payments most likely to debt collectors, if however these are large debts CCJs may have been taken against you in which case unless you can pay in full you will need have the CCJ set aside (advice here if you need) and sort out regular affordable payments.
