Credit File Help

Hi Guys

Before I start I know what a lot of you are going to say - deal with it - own up but its not that straight forward - yet!

My question is if I look at my credit report through experian or a like will all my details match up and will all my creditors know I have looked? Will it make it easier for them to find me?

A few years ago I had major health issues due to stress. i am not running away from my problems Im just not sure if I can deal with them all right now.

i want to get the ball rolling and see what is held about me on my fil so I can start planning to sort it all out but I dont want a mass influx of people sending me letters - i just could deal with it all right now.

im not on the electoral role yet - so far none of the people i owe money to are chasing me

Any help on whether i should look at my report and also whether igt will open the flood gates please help

If you check your credit file, you need to enter current details. These details will be updated on your file, and if debt collectors are chasing you they will be informed of the update. I have heard of people on the forum who had letters start arriving within 2 months of doing a creditor check as there current address is now listed.
The same can happen when applying for credit, credit checked for jobs/flats.

This is all may bes, there are people who haven't been chased from doing so, but it is a risk.
I am unsure if getting the statutory report does the same thing.
