Note to DFW re free broadband if you have sky

I live in Croydon and I received a letter yesterday to say that our area is the first to get free 2mb bb if you have sky. So if you are one of those people who will not get rid of sky like my husband this would be a way to make it pay for itself. If you are in that situation, then it might be a good idea not to agree to a new 12 month BB contract with another provider if you are thinking of doing this. I don't know what the roll out schedule is but if I were to do it it would save me £180 per yr:j :j

Yep this definitely looks good news for those of us who simply refuse to cut our Sky off completely...!
If I got the very basic package for free then I would have the same internet access as I have now but for nothing... not bad!
Only thing is - I signed up for 12 months contract with someone else last week... DOH!!!

No it's too late to cancel... sadly! I had 7 days to cancel but didn't see any reason to do it so I didn't.
I've ended up with Toucan because that's what Uswitch said was the cheapest - this was possibly a big mistake!Total Debt: Owe about £19,000 on credit cards plus £24,000 which is my half of joint loans.0 -
 Not in my area!!!!!!!!! If like me you don't already have sky go onto the broadband site 1st http://87.86.186.37/flash.htm to see if it's available where you are - if the only package they come up with is Connect this is no good, not free. Only 28% of the country are covered at the mo.
Make sure you do this before you sign up to Sky tv!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

lol i got a letter from sky yesterday that unfortunately we are in an area not covered by the free broadband BUT we can still get if for £17 a month!!!!! And then only if we do not leave sky in the 12 months contract ummmm so I would have to pay more then I do now AND promise not to leave sky for another 12 months????? I'm confused why they offered it as a great deal.0
