Hi guys, need some tips!! I have been selling on ebay on and off for years. I have read on this forum how successful most of you are on ebay and I feel that I need some help. I have just started selling my daughters old clothes (well I say old, most are still like new, shes barely worn them!!), I put them on a 10 day listing and starting bid is 99p. I seem to have luck with my OH old motorbike bits lol, but never with clothes!!! I take clear pics, but I feel as if I must be missing something. Out of the 10 items I listed last week, only about 4 are going to sell. I seem to get plenty of watchers, but no bids:mad: can anyone help me with some good hints n tips??? thanks

From my limited experience, you need to have an attention getter to get people to your listing. There are tons and tons of baby clothes - and general clothing - on ebay that most listings just get lost in the noise. My strategy is to only list my run-of-the-mill stuff alongside a popular designer label. The (often forlorn) hope is that people will look at the listing for the desirable item(s) and then click on my other items link where, hopefully, something will take their fancy.0

I sell most of my daughters, old outgrown clothes on ebay and it's very rare that something doesn't sell. I always look at what season the items I am selling are for, for instance I have started listing last summers clothes now as I tend to find people start shopping 2-3 months ahead of season. If you have lots of vests, sleepsuits, etc you could try bundling those together to make them more appealing and if you have any branded stuff like Next or whatever make sure you get that in your title. Try checking out your competition, see who is selling what and see how they have listed their items, descriptions, combined postage and steal some tips
Oh and when it comes to kids clothes I find they always attract a better price when the auction ends on either a Sunday or a Thursday night.
Good luck and I hope your things start selling soon

Wait until the auctions end then come back and tell us how many sold.
Many people will not bid until the last minute, or as close to the auction ending as they can get.
If people are watching the items it means they are interested. But they may not want to bid as they think it will encourage others to bid too.0 -
4 out of 10 will sell, thats seems good to me and yes as G/joe mentioned wait to see how the watchers react at the end of the auctions.0

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.
I ended up with watchers on everything, but made a bit of mistake as everything has just ended now! lol.:o I need to make sure everything ends on a sunday night next time. Out of the 10 I listed I sold 5:T so that was better than I thought. will relist those not sold as I did have watchers and will put some more stuff on, thanks for your help so far.LBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!!
