Hi

Some help would be appreciated . In july 2007 itook a car loan with welcome finance with a payment of £ 295 a month. Unfortunately in December 2007 I missed a payment and agreed to pay An extra £50 a month to pay this missed payment. I now notice Feb 2010 I am still paying this extra £50 . Am I entitled to a refund for all these overpayments by direst debit as the direct debit rules suggest.

  • So you've been overpaying for 3 years but didn't argue it? No, I'd be very surprised if they gave you the money back as you agreed, and didn't argue, the extra payments. You should be able to drop back down without a problem, but surely it's done you a favour by bringing down the term of your loan?
