Hoop help please!!!

ETA - my first thought was to have a hoop as it would hold it away from my legs for walking but just read Linda's post on peeing... To walk or to pee that is the question!!!

Just had a look at the 2 pics, (you've got a cracking figure by the way!!!) and I'd go for a petticoat underneath rather than a hoop.

Linds will know for sure though x

My dress is MS Adelaide, which is very similar to yours and when I tried it on I had a one hoop petticoat underneath and it looked fabulous. I tried sitting down etc and got on fine with it.

The lady in the shop said to make sure that whenever i sit down, someone is behind me to hold the chair otherwise the hoop pushes the chair away and you fall on your !!!!!. Hence all the You've Been Framed clips!

I'd imagine that even with a hoopless petticoat its going to be difficult making toilet trips and will need BM help anyway!

Having said that, I havent tried it on with a hoopless petti so ill do that when i go in and compare!

Hi Hayley, your dress is a little less full than mine and Linda suggested a one hoop petti for me (there are 2 petticoats built into my dress already). Does your dress have any underskirts already there? That will make a difference to what you need too. If there is nothing there already maybe a 2 or 3 layer net without a hoop might be enough. In Linda's words I wanted more "umph" and thats why I'm going with her suggestion.

I'm just thinking out loud really...I would wait for Linda's expert advice

It does depend on the gown having net underneath already. If not, then you could go for a Jupon 163. Here's a link to a lady wearing one under her gown.

Of course, it all depends on how full you want the skirt (don't go fuller than a 165) but don't be tempted into buying a fuller petticoat to bring up the length. You may find you 'fill' the skirt too much rather than showcasing it. All you will succeed in doing is distorting it.

Bones are ok and imo in this instance I'd go for one. Jupon doesn't seem to have a net only petticoat which is big enough. Net is easier than hoops because you can 'scrunch it all up' when visiting the little girls room. It's just a little more 'fun' with a hoop!!

It is going to be fun whatever you decide to go for. Jupon do a fab range of pettis most are net and hoop. When I worked for Pronuptia they were all hoops. They are much softer now.

Linda that petticoat looks good, where would I get one and how much are they?

When you say some net, does this mean you could wear it without a hoop but choose to add that bit extra? If you want to e mail me an image I can advise you better.

i got my jupon 163 on ebay last week for £19.
my dress looks amazing with it underneath.
jupon are in demand on ebay, i was lucky as the woman i bought it from didnt advertise it as a jupon, just as a hooped petticoat.
theres a website which i think is called princess sparkle and they sell new ones for about £45-50
