Hi!
I bought some off the shelf b&q own make paint last week. Unfortunately I picked up silk instead of matt and unfortunately I have lost my receipt. Apparentely their new policy is no receipt no swap! Is this right?
Help!

Yeah, i tried to return one of their own B&Q items today. They have reduced their returns period to 45 days as well. The Manager even said they are not allowed to take anything back even their own branded goods without a receipt. However if if paid for it by card you can take the statement along as proof of purchase. They will track it back on the system to make sure it was "Actually" purchased from them. Manager said people are buying things on ebay and really cheap and then taking them back to store for a full refund on the item.... Hope you have better luck than i did. told them i will be back in a few days with my statement not prepared to let over £100 go down the pan.

Well, I went today and I definately can't swap it without a receipt. She said people were buying broken drills from carboot sales and then exchanging them for new ones. Hardly the same as needing to swap a tin of silk for a tin of matt that they can still sell on, but hey!
She has encouraged me to email head office as she has had lots of complaints.
As far as I'm concerned though,Wicks are going to do very well out of this!

I bought a sink from them, had it installed and it went rusty within a few days, so took the receipt back and, even without the sink (it is still in my kitchen), got a full refund on a credit note, which you can then spend again in B&Q and its valid for a year. As I bought the sink with a 15% discount (which was clearly shown on the receipt), I did quite well out of the deal as they refunded full price!
