Hi I have Booked my wedding at a great venue for mid June however the venue want to charge resturant prices for the 40 bottles of wine we would like (£14.95). I think there should be some discount, at least for volumn.
They dont alow wine from outside the hotel.
I have called another local venue to ask how they approach this and they charge the same price.
How should I approach haggleing over this as everthing is already booked?
Or should I just accept it will be a sober affair!
Thanks
Aimee

As hotels mark up on wine is something silly like 70%, I would look at saying I would like 40 bottles at £360 (£9 a bottle) compared to what they want to charge you (£598) I would then haggle up to £450 (which is £11.25 per bottle) which I think is a fair price for wedding wine! You can start by saying 'I would like to discuss the amount of wine we are having, I feel that as we are ordering 40 bottle a reasonable discount would bring us back onto budget, we were thinking of 40 bottles for £360' and then work from there!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0
