Glass' Guide value for 1999 Fiesta?

Options
Afternoon,

I was just wondering if anyone has a copy of the Glass' Guide as my insurance company are dragging their heels with my insurance claim and I'm wondering what the ballpark figure will be in settlement.

Thanks very much :)

Probably too old to be listed, it is all down to condition at that age.

Ah OK thanks :) The insurance company said that they would use the Glass' Guide as a starting point but they did say the fact that it has FSH of being serviced every year would make a slight difference :)

Check similar cars on AutoTrader etc. for a realistic idea of value.

Most insurers will make a low offer at the first attempt.;)

Cheers :) I've looked on Autotrader but the prices seem to go from 700-2000 so it's hard to tell which would be a match if that makes sense. The only problem is that if I refuse their first offer, the courtesy car has to be returned immediately whereas if I accept, they will give me time to cash the cheque and find a replacement.

  • Thank you for that Hintza :) I found that information earlier but I think it's the part ex prices whereas I'm looking for the price if it was bought privately if that makes sense? Thank you ever so much though for taking the time to research it and reply :)

Forget Glasses guide. You need to be out in a position where you have enough money to replace your car so you need to know what it will cost to buy a car, not what it's worth as trade in.

Autotrader and local paper are places to hunt for cars similar to yours - autotrader has an exellent search engine and you can put in your car details to find matches.

My sister got £1800 for her tired 2001 model. Mum got £2500 for her better looked after low mileage example also from 2001.
  • Thanks Daveyjp :) I was just enquiring as the insurance company have said that they will use the Glass' Guide to come up with a settlement figure

Wow, they seem very cheap these days. I once owned a '99 Fiesta 1.25 zetec. Sold it about 5 years ago for £2800. Depreciation was quite high back then but like others say it's mostly down to mileage and condition now.

Daveyjp, can I ask a rather cheeky question please? When did your sister and mother get their settlement? I was just wondering if it was recently as I've got the Autotrader but there doesn't seem to be many like for like models at the minute, nor in last week's (at least not with FSH, long (ish) MOT with 97k miles and being a ghia)

    Thanks :)
