Virgin Media AGGGGGGGGGGG :(

Also posted on the Internet services board but I feel more at home here so thought I'd see what people had to say
.
After being with Virgin for my home broadband services for something in the region of 8 years, I moved home in December. I obviously alerted them to this which wasn't a problem.
Once moved in I was given a date that my broadband wuld be active and was told that because of the move I would be starting a new 12 month contract. However, I had always been part of their 30 day rolling contract which is why I was signed up to the service in the first place. The customer services rep went away and came back telling me that I could stay on this deal but a £50 cancelation fee would apply if I decided to leave. I told them I didn't think this was particularly fair on a 30 day contract but if that's what it took then so be it.
Fast forward to today and I've rang to gain a MAC code to leave only to be told I'm on a 12 month contract!!. I explained the prior arrangement that had been agreed only to be told it didn't exist and that I had never had the conversation. Obviously I'm furious. I requested a call from a manager and my details were taken, whether I get a call is a different matter. Can anyone give me some advice on my best action and where I stand please? I literally only stayed with and signed up with Virgin originally because of said 30 day contract and explicitly said i was not willing to go onto a 12 month contract with them on the phone. likewise I've never signed anything to agree to that. Thanks, sorry for the rant

virgin seem to enjoy calling their customers liers:mad: We called up last year to cancel our contract because I believed they are far too expensive. When my huband called to cancel they asked why and that if he decided to stay they would offer him a great deal. Anyway we decided to except their deal and say with them another year until this may.
Last month we had a look at our online statment and saw that they had taken off the discount we were recieving from them and were charging us full price. My husband immediatly called and asked what was going on. He explained that we had been offered a deal last year and this was the only reason we stayed with them. The call centre bloke said to my husband that would never have been offered and that he was basically lying. My hubby was fuming and asked if we hadn't been offered that deal why was that the amount virgin had been taking for our direct debit every month? The call centre bloke said there had been a administration error and this has now been spotted and we are bound by a contract to continue paying until it runs out in may:mad:
Both my husband and I are absolutley livid and I can honestley say I will never touch virgin media again and I will tell anyone who asks my oppinion exactly what a bunch of crooks they are:mad:Nothing to report:p0 -
Virgin Media are the worst company ever. I was with ntl and never had any problems, then VM took over ntl and it's been an awful service since. In the past I've had to wait 2 hours on the phone to get through to the right person at the call centre, only to be passed from Scotland to Wales to India and back again, and then they hung up on me!0

We,ve had the exact same thing happen to us. Phoned back when we noticed broadband charge had been taken off our bill and was being taken out by separate direct debit (so bill price looked same amount as offer) and told NO the deal wasn't made. Also told purchase price for router would be refunded up to the value of £40.00 (Sky were giving them free with their deal).
Two letters sent to different addresses to make complaint and were ignored. Sent ANOTHER letter by recorded delivery in January which they acknowledged recieving and aimed to resolve within 14 days. Sent 3 e-mails, 1 of which was acknowledged. Just had a call from them tonight to say the girl that gave the offer has left (hopefully sacked the lying little minx!!) and that they had no record of the offer and that they do not refund routers. All that effort because I KNOW the offer was made, just to be told tough XXXX, ....Virgin Media couldn't make a mistake then? I must be lying then!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad: I,ll be booking reconnection to BT & Sky first thing in the morning!PROUD MEMBER OF

When we moved house and started VM afresh, they forgot to send the router with the installation and sent it separately, we were charged for the router but it was refunded.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
i have had and witnessed problems with other family members like the above posts, ill never forget ringing virgin after they took over telewest, i was unhappy about there increased non direct debit fee the rep said well if you dont like it GO SOMEWHERE different  needless to say moved on now :jdidnt want to fund bransons galactic toy! he can crash it into the moon for me:pPPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0
