Gift for wedding

Hi, I am attending a wedding in a few weeks and have an idea for the gift and just wondering if someone can tell me if this is any good as Ive never been to one since I was younger (apart from my own haha - didnt really get gifts) but I hope its good!
I want to get them a nice wedding photo album and have my Hubby who is a keen photographer, take photos on the day and I will get them printed etc and give it to the couple?
Does that sound good? Would you be happy to get that?
Thanks!

  • Yes definately a good idea!! You can get some lovely albums in the supermarkets now and also M&S. This is a really thoughtful present - personally I would love this!!!

It will also be nicer if your hubby can capture some "candid" shots - i.e. different to the "official" photographer.

    Nice idea.
Don't discount Tesco - they have (or did have) some lovely handmade albums...
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

Sounds like a great idea to me especially if he does candid shots as someone else has suggested.

    We'd love it! :)

  • We went to a wedding recently and are in the process of making a photo book from H2B's snaps (amateur photographer). He got some great ones of the 'behind the scenes' of the official shots. E.g. when the groom had to carry his bride across a lawn to get to a bridge that's great for photos. We have a 9 shot sequence of him picking her up and carrying her, then the same pose on the bridge the photographer got. :)

Also plenty of shots of out friends who we were hanging around with during the day as the photographer didn't take many of us.

I know I'd love to get these as gifts afterwards; I don't think you can have too many photos. :)
  • Hi, it does sound good! We did this exact thing, except in a super speedy fashion, the album was on the Top Table before the start of the Wedding Breakfast!!

We took photos after the ceremony and when they were at the beginning of the 'official' photos. We then got a friend to pop to the local supermarket and have them printed out. We then put them in the album before slipping the album onto the Top Table. So I guess these were the first 'hard copy' pictures of their wedding! You could say they were impressed!

My parents did this for my cousins wedding. They had a registry office ceremony followed by photos in a park, before an evening do later on, so we went for lunch at Tesco whilst our photos were printed.. They loved it and it was passed around all night for guests who hadn't been there in the daytime to see the pics as the bride changed dress.
The Grandmother of the groom is still moaning she doesn't have any pics though... can't please everyone.
