HELP . . . . again!

Hi,

I have posted before and with advice/support for some lovely people on her I am in the middle of setting up a DMP with CCCS. I've changed bank accounts written to all but one creditor and sent good will payments. I just need a little bit more help!

I have a loan with my old bank HSBC. I tried to cancell the payment (online & via the phone) but was not able to. It was to late to write to them (did not want to let my bank know untill new account set up incase they did anything like freezing the account ext)

As my pay is now going into my new account there was not enough money in the old account to cover the loan. Normally when anything is due out of my bank but I do not have enough money the dd just bounces and I get a £25 fee, I was expecting this for the loan and although I could have done without the fee it's much less than the loan amount and could just cover it.

I have been informed that this will not be the case for the loan, that they will honer this payment to the loan, give me an unauthorised overdraft and charge me daily for it untill it is cleared :mad:

There are also £35 of charged to be added to the account on the 01/03 for dd that have bounced this month (I know, not good but I am trying to sort it out) This will now either bounce (?) or add to the overdraft. I was going to transfer just enough to cover these form the old account

Also there is an outstanding £5 goodwill cheque that has not been cash that is from my old account. What will happen when they cash this? apart from them getting mad!

As I can not afford to pay the overdraft amount could this be added to my DMP and paid off via CCCS??

I am so fed up now of all this hassle and can't wait till my DMP is set up and I just have one payment to worry about and I don't have to bother with the 100's of letters/calls I get every week bothering me for money

    Hi Sarah

Yes you will need to add the overdraft to your DMP. Usually this is done automatically but I guess in your case you were not in an overdraft at that point in time.

Speak to CCCS and explain what has happened.

With regards to the token payment -was this to someone else not HSBC? Its unfortunate but cannot be helped in this situation. If its still going to be a while until your first DMP payments happen you could send a follow up letter explaining and enclosing a postal order instead.

    Good luck

    Hi Sarah,

Just been having a read of your thread, as long as you are having your income paid into your new account you will be fine. If HSBC force an overdraft on your account, then this would just get a reduced payment through the DMP.

You will need to call the CCCS as soon as possible and add the overdraft onto your DMP.

Good luck with your plan and let me know if you have any problems.

    Sarah

  • I hate banks . . . .

The have now said they have reversed the laon payment and I will get the £25 charge for this. Hopefully the loan department will recive my letter shortly and I will now have enough money to cover the charges and goodwill payments as planned

Thank you for all your replies :)

I'm hoping this will get better once the DMP is in place!
