Oxfam and Fair Trade
Oxfam supports the Fair Trade movement in a number of ways. We sell Fairtrade-marked food and drink plus a range of ethically checked gifts in our shops and online.
Oxfam was one of the pioneers of Fair Trade more than 40 years ago. Since then, we have been involved in every aspect of Fair Trade and have contributed to its success in the UK.
In 1991, Oxfam helped found Cafedirect , which is now the UK’s leading 100% Fairtrade hot beverages brand. A year later, Oxfam helped to set up the Fairtrade Foundation, which controls the use of the Fairtrade mark in the UK. The Fairtrade mark is a registered certification for products sourced from producers in developing countries. It is the independent consumer guarantee that disadvantaged farmers and workers in developing countries get paid a minimum sustainable price.

Cafedirect's tea is the best "PROPER" tea I've ever tasted, and I drink a LOT of tea!!
("proper being normal tea, not the herbal hippie tea, or that Early Grey stuff that smells of washing up liquid!)
I'll deffo be donating to Oxfam for some free tea0 -
The very old and fraile lady looking after my local Oxfam shop looked at me very blankly when I gave a bag of stuff on Saturday and mentioned the tea. I did not have the heart to argue with her!0

Hi Whalie, Maybe your particular Oxfam wasn't one of the participating branches. I did the wrong search earlier by not selecting the 'food' option when searching for my nearest branch (as the original post told me too). I'll still be donating though. Doesn't matter if I don't get a box of 'very coveted' FAIR TRADE tea.Just changing my signature here !!:D0
