Hello
Does anyone have any information, links to websites etc of companies which can help for debt matters. We don't want to take up another loan and also I have heard (but cant find on this board) about the 'proper' companies who really don't charge any fees.
Thank you in advance to anyone that can help,
Paul

Hey happydj!
Have a look at this thread. It contains links to the CCCS and Payplan (near the bottom).
Basically they are both registered charities who are there to help you free of charge. They can assist in contacting your creditors to reach agreements about reapying debts, can advise on IVA's, bankruptcy or simple things like budgeting.
They are amazingly well though of on these boards. I've not really heard a bad word about them.0 -

I've had a look at the site and there was a blurb saying "no upfront fees"!
I'm just a little suspicious on how you only signed up to this site today and this is your first post!
To happydj, please avoid this company! It doesn't ring right with me. The other 2 I reccomended are 100% free!
I wish i could singlehandidly bring down DMC'S that are there for profit

Hi, I'm new but had to reply to you. Please give Christians Against Poverty (CAP) a go, you don't have to be a Christian, it's free, non judgemental, they visit you and sort out a budget and a repayment time for your creditors, they can stop interest and really help you get back on the straight and narrow.
The head office is in Bradford but they are based all around the UK. Try the website, sorry I can't post a link just google it.0 -

Hi there,
If oyu dont want to take out another loan then, I dont think that other loan companies are your first port of call.
Do a budget planner listing everything from gas through to your food bill for the month. Also all of your debt etc etc
Then post that on here and you will be surpris:T :T ed what you can save, so many people will have money saving ideas.
Once you have done that go and speak to Citizens advice they are just fab and will really help you see the light at the end of the tunnel:A0
