Foil

Have just been wondering if there is a very cheap way of buying foil. I use it a lot for cooking and I have been buying small packs from Asda, although the biggest they do. It seems very expensive. I have been looking on line at Amazon, ebay and catering companies to buy it in bulk but by the time you pay the postage I'm not sure its that much cheaper.
Where do you buy it from if you buy it at all?

I buy Tesco value foil, about 45p a roll, it's not the best quality (quite thin) but as I don't use much of it, it serves its purpose.
Home & Bargain also do various sized rolls for a decent price.0 -
another vote here for tesco value, thin but I dont find it tears unessesarily.0

I also tried the value range a couple of times but like other found it just ripped so easily and was really thin. The best foil I used was from Aldi - it was ace and lasted ages - haven't been in there for ages so this was quite a while ago.Mortgage FreeSave £5,000 in 2020[CENTER:j0

Hi, what do you use the foil for as I have a couple of alternatives to buying any. I rarely buy foil so wouldnt know where to get the best deal but I wash up any "alu" trays that food from supermarkets come in, especially ones that come with the M & S meal deals (btw these can be used again and again, they wash really easily alot easier than a baking tray!). I also wash up chinese/indian takeaway containers and flatten them to use to cover things in the oven. I cooked some salmon in the oven in the "alu" trays covered with the takeaway foil and they cooked to perfection!0

I buy 2 kinds - tesco value for wrapping - used it for years covering pyrex dishes etc. For other jobs such as lining oven bottom to save washing I use the stronger branded foil as the wrapping is no good for this. Just keep it in a different drawere so family do not use it on unnecessary jobs.0

I use Aldi's foil. It's a massive roll and lasts ages, plus it's tough and doesn't rip as you are getting it out of the box like some cheap foil does."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
