I trust you didn't get them to do an intelligence test to prove your assumption of their intellect; you just made that decision based on your own values - thus demonstrating how all of us as human beings do make judgements based on our own past experiences and beliefs - so why not try to understand that JC staff may have to "profile" faces they see based on their own experiences etc?
Look, shabby clothes by wearing provocative clothes. Let me make this simple for you, clothes that have been either demonised (hoodies) by the media or VERY rough dirty holes in clothing.
Intelligence test lol If I want a laugh I may just get them to do that.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

OP are you able to claim as your wifes carer?
Good advice. I think there is also a good website called entitledto.
Check that out as it tells you everything that you/not entitled to, benefits wise of course.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I don't know to be honest ,she gets disability living allowance and even though she is not well herself, up until her father died 3 weeks ago myself and her were looking after him ,she could not claim as a carer herself as she was on disability allowance herself.0

Is this a new rule? Not heard of it myself if it is.pennyshahin wrote: »she could not claim as a carer herself as she was on disability allowance herself.
Anyway does she get DLA Mob, Care or both? At what rate, high, middle or lower?
Do you care for her at least 35 hours a week?0 -
I'm sorry to hear about your experience of the JC OP. You should complain if you feel you need to and hopefully they will take the complain seriously.
In the Jobcentre i work in (Gloucester) i do the fortnightly signing and i think me and the rest of the staff that do fortnightly signing do a really good job, im very polite to everyone and help them as much as possible (as do my colleagues) i think (as someone posted earlier) it is pot-luck as to what staff are like in your Jobcentre, some people can go off on power/ego trips which is bad.11K Challenge

I have to say that everyone I've dealt with at my local JobCentre has been very helpful and polite but this could be because I am polite to them This all may change now that I've attended my 13-week interview with hardly a sniff of a job whatsoever to date.0

To someone who works in a JC:
I had my 13 week review 3 weeks ago. I was told that I would go onto weekly signings for 6 weeks and that each week I'd get an in depth 20 minute signing session to discuss how my job hunting is going. Does that sound right? Because it hasn't happened. I have the normal 2 minute signing session whilst they type in my job search details into the computer, same as I did on fortnightly signings. So, am I not getting what I'm supposed to be getting or did the person who did my 13 week review have the wrong end of the stick?
Just curious, thanks.0 -

Guidance states you can have up to 20 mins jobsearch review but reality states jobcentre don't have the staff, or in my office the desks to be able to maintain this. Do you need the extra help? they can only match you to vacancies that you could find yourself on the jobpoints or website. The people who sign you aren't advisers so they can not discuss other options or issues with you. If you need more help you need to ask for an adviser interview. Are you aged 18-24? If so you are allocated more adviser time and will weekly sign for 13 weeks not 6.0
