Cubegame. Its the citronella in the Skin So Soft that repells the insects. Just like the citronella candles etc you can buy. Have used it successfully as a repellant for years, even posted it out to the Gulf to my husband during the conflict. He still swears by it. Its also the only thing my lanolin-sensitive sister can/will use, she is never without a bottle of it in the car.

As there is free postage I decided it was worth £5 to try it out for myself after all based on your comments thanks, fingers crossed. Free postage was supposed to be before 11 but is still working at the moment.

I did the West Highland Way last summer and of the 3 or 4 insect repellants we had in our kit, the SSS was the ONLY one that was effective. It's the oiliness combined with the citronella that seems to make it work so well. Another good tip is to take garlic capsules along with a topical repellant for maximum effect. I SWEAR by Skin So Soft
The only thing more effective is 100% DEET which I think you can buy from Amazon quite cheaply, but it isn't something I want to put on my skin.Come ride with me, through the veins of history...
