Hi Chrissy

If this account is still open then you will still being financially associated in terms of your credit reports etc.

If you can be classed as in financial hardship you could try to make a bank charge claim under the new rules. If not you may well have to pay up. Are you still in contact with friend? can you agree to pay half each? You may be able to negotiate a full & final settlement to pay less than the balance.
