hsbc do a credit check for a loan i havent even applyed for
just got an email from credit expert with a credit alert saying hsbc have done a search on my file for a personal loan the thing is i havent applyed for a loan with any company can hsbc do this with out my knowing i did apply for a hsbc loan back in nov 2009 but was turned down and this was recoreded on my credit file back in nov

Query it with your bank, this sounds a bit dodgy to me. It might be a phishing scam from "credit expert" (they may not be who they seem to be).
