I'll join in...though mine isn't entirely about the money saving side of things (though it is a good side effect:D) I want to change the way I eat by cutting out the junk, in exactly the same way i,e. giving up one thing/changing something every month.

    January - Coca Cola - :T successful
February - Butter :o - successful ( I now use low fat olive spread cheaper too) :T
March - crisps - I usually have 1 x packet every day changing this to once a week
April - Sugar (keep putting this one off)
    May - tbc
    june - tbc
    July - tbc
    August - tbc
    Sept
    Oct
    Nov
    Dec

  • Hi castri09, I'd love to join.

    Jan - coke - done.
    Feb - takeaway coffee. Done.
March - buying ready made sandwiches once a week for my lunch.
April - magazines. I buy the OK magazine combo but after reading it once, I dump it to one side.
    May - tbc.
    June - tbc.
    July - tbc.
    aug - tbc.
    Sept - tbc.
    Oct - tbc.
    Nov - tbc.
    Dec - tbc..

  • What a great idea!

Unfortunately I can't join in as I have already given up on almost everything. Don't smoke, booze gone, don't gamble, car gone, only buy one pair of walking boots per year (no other footwear), using up old clothes and only buying supermarket jeans at £3 per pair. No holidays or social life.Freeview TV only, PAYG phone (only about £5 per month), using daughter's internet. Can't think of anything else to cut.

    Cheers HG

I've just given up the fags :D. It's been a bit of a struggle and I won't pretend that I haven't lapsed a few times. But the thought of saving over 30 quid a week has been a great incentive and it's been four weeks now so I treated myself to a bottle of perfume last night! (bought online at half price ;))
Next month, my daily newspaper, which I hardly ever get time to read anyway. is going. I'm just going to buy the weekend edition with all the mags and stuff so that should last me a week anyway.

For March my thing to give up is my magazine subscription which I hardly ever read when it arrives and it's time to cancel.

I've found the paperwork out ready to do and just need to do it now!

Good luck castri on the TV mags!
