We have special previews of Little Miss Sunshine at cinemas around the country!
Little Miss Sunshine
The Hoovers are one of the most endearingly fractured families ever seen. Together, the motley six-member family treks from Albuquerque to the Little Miss Sunshine pageant in their VW Van. This results not only in comic mayhem but in death, transformation and a moving look at the surprising rewards of being losers in a winning-crazed culture.
All previews are in the evening on Tuesday 29th August, at the following cinemas:
Cineworld, Birmingham Broad Street
Cineworld, Brighton Marina
Cineworld, Cardiff
Cineworld, Sheffield
Movie House Dublin Road
ODEON, Brighton
ODEON, Camden Town
ODEON, Cardiff Atlantic Wharf (formerly UCI)
ODEON, Covent Garden
ODEON, Guildford
ODEON, Kingston upon Thames
ODEON, Manchester Printworks (formerly UCI)
ODEON, Oxford Magdalen Street
ODEON, Wimbledon
Picturehouse, Aberdeen Belmont
Picturehouse, Bath Little Theatre
Picturehouse, Exeter
Picturehouse, Notting Hill Gate
Picturehouse, Oxford Pheonix
Picturehouse, Southampton Harbour Lights
Ritzy, Brixton

Now I'm puzzled
I just saw a posting where someone went to a screening yesterday and found it wasnt on. Then I read that theres a screening for 29th August including sheffield Cineworld and I have a ticket dated september 5th Sheffield Cineworld
I find it strange that theres 2 screenings for the same film just a week apart.
Is there anyone who is wiser than me as to whats going on?IWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
My daughter arrived at 6.32 p.m. for the Camden showing and they wouldn't let her in.
Did anyone go to this as I was wondering if it was another non-showing and they might have been trying it on to avoid any compensation?0 -
I did receive an email saying the preview of little miss sunshine has been postponed to Sep 5th too. So went to the cinema (cardiff) to watch another movie with some friends. I thought just ask about it anyway. Two staff members haven't even heard about the event and were totally unaware of the free tickets. They called somebody, supervisor probably, and appologized to us and offered us free tickets to any movie of our choice. So watched snakes on the plane instead for free. Enjoyed it.0

Hardly dare even post this seeing as there are a lot of disappointed people here but we went to this film last night at Harbour Lights in Southampton and it was an absolute hoot - very very funny.

Yeah, a great film really funny :rotfl: . . but there was a mix up with times at the screening I went to in Aberdeen we had to wait half an hour standing in the bar cos there were no seats left . .Quid quid latine dictum sit, altum videtur0

Would it not be a good idea to have a synopsis of current film screenings at the start of the thread?
Much as I love scanning through the chat there are times, like today, when all i'd like to do is check for any upcoming screenings.
What does everyone else think?0 -
yup, it would be good to have 2 threads one for screenings and one for chatting about themQuid quid latine dictum sit, altum videtur0

Not an upcoming screening I'm afraid, but I noticed on the SeeFilmFirst website that there were screenings for Little Miss Sunshine both yesterday and next Tuesday at various locations.
I saw it at Southampton last night, and my sister watched it in Manchester. She had no problems, but in Southampton we had to wait about 45 minutes to see the film.
However, the film was so funny that it was worth the wait. I would have paid to see this one. A true gem of a film, and I honestly can't remember ever hearing a cinema audience laugh so much.
And anyway, if you ever had to wait at a cinema, it would be Southampton Picturehouse. No compliants about sitting in their lovely bar, watching the rainbows over the marina.
Thanks to the OP for a great night out for free!0 -

Kinda agree, Moneypenny, but then there would probably be no chat then, innit!?
Also it would take someone a bit of time to maintain the format. Perhaps we should start a new thread on the next free film announcement...?
Kessik:
I have tickets to LMS for Cardiff but have received no email changing it to the 5th! Who did you get this email from...?
Thanks!! That window's cracked on both sides!!0
