Has anyone got experience of how quickly original documents get returned? Sent off a P60 to WELB in Omagh on 8th Feb and it's still listed as "Awaiting Documentation" on the studentfinanceni web-site. If it has been lost in the post how do you get a replacement? (as far as I know you can't get replacements). Luckily I photocopied it before I posted it but they don't accept photocopies

I am in SELB area and I take forms and documents over to Armagh and have them photocopy and return my originals. Maybe worth your while to call into Omagh and ask for documents back just in case they go AWOL. You are right you can not get replacement P60s

If the family income is over 30K they say it's not worth doing the means test stuff, just go for the default. Saves a lot of hassle if you're in that position.

Rang WELB today - they received the P60 alright but are still working on 09/10 applications and haven't started yet on 10/11 ones!
Also found out that I should not have sent the birth certificate to Student Loans in Glasgow even though that was what the web-site instructed me to do - it should have gone to the local ELB i.e. Omagh. Hopefully it will get sent from Glasgow to Omagh. I'm beginning to realise why they are still dealing with 09/10 applications!

With regard to Honkycat's post if your family income is

£19,203 or less you get Full grant (£3475)
Between £19,204 and £41,065 Partial grant
    Over £41,065 No grant
Between £41065 and £53035 you will still get some of the Means Tested loan
It is only when your income goes over £53035 that it is not worth your while filling in the income sections.

If you wish to receive more I would advise you to contact your ELB and get them to reassess your entiltlement if your income is under £41065 then you may get some of the grant. If it is between £41065 and £53035 you may get more loan also. The student finance website has a calculator where you can enter your income and it will give you a rough idea of what support you might receive.

Also if you have brothers or sisters either in school or at university make sure you put their details on the form as this can reduce down the income as an allowance is made for each other member of the family still in education.

    Hope this helps
