We believed we were so lucky to be offered a new energy effecient boiler....but the installation was beset with problems but all were dealt with reasonably quickly....until two months after completition when we had a leak through a bedroom ceiling. During 13 days of the coldest weather prior to Christmas 2010 we were left without hot water and central heating. Eventually after 20 plus calls the fault was fixed. However, in the ensuing 3 months I have made a further 40 calls trying to get warm sure to pay for their installation fault. The water ruined several items in bedroom and being pensioners we cannot afford to buy new ones and this includes the duvet and mattress from the bed. Maybe the ombudsman is the only way to resolve this horrendous situation.:(:(:(0

Don't use Warmsure!!!!! We have a ten week old baby and we have had no heating or hot water for the last two and a half weeks (February!) due to the shambles of a service that Warmsure to povide. Our boiler sprung a leak over two weeks ago and an engineer came out and said he had to order parts. We rang the help line three days later to find out what was happening, only to be told that no parts had been requested. They then placed an order for the part and days later an engineer turned up with what turned out to be th wrong part. They then had to go away and order the right parts. Then even though the parts were supposedly close by they couldn’t get someone to fit them for a further four days. We then waited in on the day they were supposedly coming to be told at 4pm that the engineer had been to collect the parts and unfortunately the main part needed still hadn’t been ordered due to another mix up!! They have now supposedly ordered the final part but this will again take a couple of days to arrive. I cannot put into words how bad the service that Warmsure provide for is. With their boiler cover you will spend more time and money on the phone and waiting for them to turn up, than you would just to ring a local Boiler Engineer and pay them. They are either very creative at fobbing off customers or are just shockingly bad at what they do!0

I have had a new boiler through warmfront fitted by eagaheat in Feb. Also there were many problems, apparently our old system was a 20 yr old combi with 4 pipes so we had to have a spaghetti of pipes a large red thing plus switches. (thank goodness for a utility room) They also didn't flush the system after saying they would. After a month of visits because the switches didn't turn off the heating, (looked up how to do this manually on internet) and yes engineers not turning up, losing days off work and then they turned up unanounced on another day, all the rest - it was a simple problem to do with the set up, no overun needed on our boiler. We are still complaining about the large hole in our wall from the old boiler but when you have no money at all for a new boiler, even with all the problems, well we now have a new and working boiler. what else can you say. if you can't afford a boiler and someones offers it for free - Thank you.0

Don't even start me on Eagaheat or Carillion as they are called nowadays. They installed a boiler with a 5 year guarantee, 24/7 hotline for post-installation issues, etc. They then tried to charge me 750 for scaffolding that was never used, damaged my bathroom wall and never left instructions behind. The boiler subsequently broke doen twice, once in the winter minus weather when we had a week old baby with no heating, hot water in the flat. They didn't even call me back, let alone come out! And now, after a year the finance department is threatening me with legal action because I refuse to pay unless my complaints are fully resolved. Unbelievable! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!0

We had a new boiler installed in 2010 which was never properly installed as the electrics weren't done. I phoned many times and was told "the job is complete". I have just had aa annual safety check visit from Carrillion engineer who took one look and said "I'm not touching that, it's dangerous it hasn't been connected yet". I now have a boiler which is unusable. What should I do/say?0

:mad::mad:Hi all
Been waiting since Sunday for them to fit a new gas valve. THE story so far.
Engineer called last Wednesday to repair a boiler fault. Need new gas valve.
Called engineer again Saturday with same fault as last Wednesday.
Engineer said new gas valve required.
Since Sunday I have call Eaga insurance 9 times for a update and to complain that the valve should have been ordered last week.
They have no intention in ever calling the customer back with an update, only intrested in stating parts will take 5 to 7 days to be delivered. Told them that Worcester Bosh have them in stock also plumb master have them in stock. It is clear they have no intention in repairing before Christmas 3rd rate company set up with government money. Stay well clear.
My poor parents had a warmfront grant and had a new boiler installed.
An engineer came over to undertake its 1st annual service and ended up switching off the heating supply and hot water as there was insufficient gas supply to the boiler. All this because the idiot that installed it from Eagaheat installed it using the old pipes because he could not be bothered to fit new pipes. Had they never had the annual service they would never have known and it has been dangerous all along.
We have been trying to chase since Fri as it is freezing and no fun without heating or hot water. Finally got someone to come out today and guess what? Have to wait for someone to come out and do the work. Not holding my breath here. You have to harass these people everyday to get somewhere or they will just ignore you.
Would not recommend them to anyone.
Steer clear. Anyone else had similar probs?0 -
My folks had a Worcester boiler and new rads installed by Eagaheat.
No problems with the installation as I can see, apart from the remote programmable room thermostat. My folks are over 80 and not being that computer savvy, this thing is impossible to fathom out, so we have disconnected it. They are in SW London.0 -
I would like to share my experience of this "scheme". We were cold-called TWO years ago and told we qualified for the full grant. A surveyor called in July 2010 and assessed that as well as the boiler, we needed a new hot water tank, pump, chemical flush and new controls.
Months passed by until March 2011 when a team came round to commence work. They wanted to check that everything was OK before starting. They took one look at the tank, said it was a different size to the one they had and that it would'nt fit into our airing cupboard. It would have to go back for re-surveying.
After several weeks and hearing nothing, phoned Warmfront to be told that another company had taken over the scheme and we would have to re-apply for the grant, back to square one.
In June 2011 another surveyor arrived and I showed him the previous report. He said that they don't make that size tank anymore, so would change the order to a combi boiler and they would take the hot water tank out.
Again months passed until November when we were called to say it needed re-surveying. Another chap came and in addition said that the radiator in the bathroom needed changing. He stated that there should'nt be any need to call further and the work should be done in 4-6 weeks.
Just before Christmas they called to say that they needed to call yet again. When I enquired why, said it was something to do with checking the boiler.
Last Tuesday, 3rd January the surveyor who called in November returned and said Warmfront are saying that we've got to have all new pipes and radiators. Because we have solid floors it would mean pipes running floor to ceiling for every radiator and our loft conversion being ripped up! Charming.
It would appear from postings on here and elsewhere that very few people actually get a decent job done, so the thought of them tearing my bungalow apart fills me with dread.
This scheme is run for the benefit of Carillion who dictate what you have to have done. There is no choice of boiler, just Ideal, with whom they seem to have a very cosy relationship with. I asked, if it is "our" grant then why don't we have any say. He said that we are not the first people to say that, it's Warmfront doing the stipulations. I said I'd have to think about it.
The point is though, that Warmfront is only a scheme, and it is Carillion that actual run things, so that is complete tosh!
I even wrote to my MP about this and he has said that it is an expensive and ineffective scheme with rarely a satisfactory outcome. He could understand why his coalition government had not scrapped it when they got into power.0
