Can't really add much to the discussion, other than that my other half was a CAB advice worker, in the branch where he worked they had a massive sign on the wall that said "do not use Warm Front" and they advised all their clients to do the same - due to the huge number of unresolved problems they had with them. If the CAB are telling clients not to touch them with a bargepole then the problem can't just be with a few installers!

But, as has previously been pointed out, this may only be localised issues. If every CAB branch had the same poster up, that would be a very different story from one local branch which had duff local installers.

Well the engineer turned up and guess what ? He can't fix it, i have no idea when i will get it fixed now. Its 2 day's till Christmas and i have no heating or no hot water. It's an absolute disgrace.
Well it's now 4 weeks since my boiler broke down and warm front still have'nt fixed it. Fed up trying to phone them and e-mailing them. The only sorce of hot water we have is a kettle. I can't dry our clothes. Do not have warm front coz if you do you'll have nothing but stress :mad::mad:
  • My boiler broke down on 18/12/2010. We have it insured with Homeserve and phoned them up to send out an engineer. The engineer came on 22/12/2010 and said it needed a new part, but it wouldnt get fitted until after xmas. We tried phoning between xmas and new year to no avail and it was 4/1/2011 before we actually spoke to anyone. Homeserve put us through to Warmsure who said they were waiting for the part but would phone us when it came in. Since then we have phoned Warmsure almost daily, but we were told time and again that the engineer would phone when he was coming to fit the part. Basically we went round in circles for almost 2 weeks.
Then last friday the engineer came to fit the part, only to tell us that it needed another part, but not to worry, he would order it straight away and would come and fit it on saturday, or monday at the latest. On monday the engineer phoned to say he hadnt got the part, but would come on tuesday. When we hadnt heard from him by midday yesterday I phoned Homeserve and tey put me through to Warmsure who told me that the engineer was going to the parts centre that afternoon and he would phone me this morning to say when he would come to fit it. Again, when I hadnt heard anything by midday I phoned Warmsure, but the person I spoke to wasnt able to get through to the engineers. So I phoned again later this afternoon. This time I was told that the part was only actually ordered two days ago, so obviosly we were lied to by the engineer last friday.
I just cant believe that a company dealing with broken boilers every day of the week hasnt got a supply of parts or at least a more efficient supplier.
In the meantime I am living in a freezing cold, damp house with no sign of the boiler being mended this week, next week or ever.
  • Obviously there are lots of problems with these two companies but can anyone tell me if their problems got resolved? It is now nearly 5 weeks since our boiler last worked and we definitely cant go on like this much longer without it seriously damaging our health (and Sanity)

sometimes, i am still waiting for mine to be resolved. the problem now of course is the goverment has no money so i woudlnt be surprised if they all disappear with all our money
  • they are not disappearing but they are shedding loads of staff...but they have also just been brought out by Carrillion...things may get better or may get worse...
the warmsure contractors/engineers come via agencys who ring you up whenever and say would u like a job..£35 an hour and then reduces for each hour after that...the engineers only get paid once they arrive at property and til they leave..nothing for travel or fuel...thats why they dont hang about.
To all you unsuspecting customers out there warmsure cover the majority of companies out there under there insurance schemes, (be it banks, home insurance, warmfront, home improvement companies). check your small print 1st before you sign your warmth and hot water away.
  • I have had no heating or hot water for 2 and a half weeks now. Ideal boilers passed the job onto warmsure who sent an engineer out to diagnose the problem even though they had already confirmed over the phone that the computer board had packed up. The engineer ordered the part before leaving but four days later I was told that the part had not been ordered. Another 4 days later i got a call saying the part was in and would be sent overnight to the engineer. The engineer said it never arrived. 2 days later the parts were sent out again to an engineer who also said they never arrived. Is it ever going to be fixed? I feel like I need to look for somewhere else to live. I have and 18 month old and a 4 year old boy and I work part time. I am struggling to cope with the hassel this is causing me!

  • lol, count yourself lucky - we never had any of the annual inspections (you were supposed to get 2) and the boiler went wrong 2 months after it was installed. I gave up after about the 849th phone call and then just went out and got a new boiler after the 2 years was up :D

felt much happier not having an ideal boiler and even happier knowing i dont have to try and talk to a warmsure clown again ;)
