Getting a loan on E.S.A

Options
Just wondering if anyone is on Employment and support allowance that has managed to get a loan?

I am on the basic rate at the moment for 13 weeks while they do the assessment stage and then if i get through all of that i will be put on the higher rate employment and support allowance.

My illness is mentally...anxiety and all that. i have to feel safe in my own places too go out...i am unable to do public transport or anything like that due too my illness, so basically all week i cant leave the house until after 7pm and then its too late to d anything i wanted or needed too anyway so i only get to leave the house on a sunday when my mum is off work and i can go out in her car.

So is there any possible way i could get a loan on this benefit? I feel having a car would benefit and help me with some freedom to get out and hopefully slowly get me better.

  • See the 'getting car finance on benefits' thread, I have a feeling the responces will be exactly the same. :)

Save up a few hundred quid and buy an old banger. If you can't do that you can't afford it.

lol! As my sig says, my posts are my own and nothing to do my CAB work.
Just because I work for the CAB doesn't mean I can't partake in a joke.

My work life and my personal life are seperate, but thanks for the needlessly insulting comment.

Edit: sig amended. I'm proud of what I do but it's not worth the negative comments.

Anyway, back to the original thread.

I thought it was quite a good joke! :)

Dealing with so many people with so many chips must get you down, glad immoral can keep a sense of humour. :)
  • Let's keep this straight and serious for OP's sake - unemployed in any way or benefit usually means a straight decline with most banks.
Sub prime is the only way I'm afraid.
  • well i am happy some certain person finds my illness a joke and funny! maybe when you have a family member very close to you with the same illness i hope you find it just as funny then.

I can assure you I don't find it amusing, if you can get a guarantor, or you have a property to secure against then maybe you could, or have u credit card you can put it on.
