How long do companies have to change inaccurate data with CRS'a?

As title really guys. I have been having ongoing arguments with robinson way about an inaccurate default on my report. amount is wrong, my details are wrong and the default date changed by 2 years
I contacted ICO who are looking into it, but in the meantime i have had a letter from the debt co to state the info they have been reporting what is indeed incorrect and they will be amending all CRA info.
This letter was dated 4th Feb. I called them (i know i shouldnt, but seeing as they had admitted in writting that the debt is not mine and the info is incorrect i couldnt see a reason as to why i shouldnt)
Anyway, how long do they have to change the info, last week i was told it would be within 7 days, but as of yet it hasnt. Its quite frustrating as i dont have any adverse date ie defaults etc on my file - except this one, which they have already admitted should be/will be removed.
I have a 3rd interview for a job and a credit check will be performed, my record needs to be clean to be offered the job. I am expecting the propspective new employer to ask me to sign the consent form for them to do the check on Friday.
I know i could take the letter with me and tell them that the default will be there but the letter states its not my debt etc but i would rather not have to expalin anything to them as it shouldnt be there anyway!
Is there a prescribed time frame they have to stick to? Tried google but loads of conflicting answers lol and cant call the ICO as i am in the library at the minute
Cheers folks!

We say upto 28 days for each company.
So upto 28 days for the debt company to send the new details,
Then upto a further 28 days for a new version of your credit report to be publicly published.
So about 2 months, where there is more than just the credit reference agency involved. As reports are published monthly so i read, if the detilas arrive just after one if published, you will be waiting till for following month for the new details to show up.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
