 not at all sure if I am doing this right but what the heck! have serious problems and not sure what else to do, apart from putting my head in the oven(and that would probably cost money!!)

    the situation is this:income £1668.22

    mortgage £498.23
    loan £250.49
    council tax £91.00
elec/gas £83.00 THIS IS HIGH AND CAN BE CUT DOWN IM SURE. MINE IS £35 A MONTH FOR BOTH
water £58.50 ALSO HIGH. ARE YOU ON A METER? THAT MIGHT HELP AS YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF THE COST THEN. PUT A BRICK IN THE TOILET CISTERN, ONLY FLUSH FOR BROWN  SHOWERS NOT BATHS, ETC
home phone £40.00 inc broadband V EXPENSIVE ESP WITH HIGH MOBILE BILL BELOW. THIS CAN BE CUT. GET THE TEENS TO PAY FOR THEIR OWN CALLS
    mobile £40.00
    insurance £35.49 WHAT FOR?
    tv licence £10.99
    total £1107.70 !!!!

you would have spotted that this does not include food, fuel, clothes, hair cuts,or entertainment!!
I have got another job which I am yet to start on the weekends which may add to my income but seeing as I work 41.5 hours as it is I not sure how many more hours I could manage.
I live in my house with 3 teenagers, eldest just about to go to uni which means I have lost maintenance and tax credits for her.
I need to sort this out badly. any suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks in advance x:A

Don;t panic!!! As already said, you have £560 left over. I live alone and eat £60 worth of food a month, so times four is £240 although I'm sure you can do it for less as you can buy and cook in bulk whereas there's only so much I can get through :)

So that leaves you £320 a month. Allow a generous £80 for spends (and that IS generous), and you still have £240 left, if my maths doesn;t fail me.

Chuck this at your cc. Ignoring interest (cos I don;t know your APR), then you can clear that in somewhere near a year or so, which is nothing.

Stick your figures into https://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx to motivate you into clearing that cc quick.

Christmas can be done cheaply. You really can do this. Start with baby steps and soon you will be a full-on MSE DFW!!!

cc is 0% until march. thanks for the encouragement and the £240 bit made me feel quite good. have managed to only spend £17.19 in the last 3 days and some of that was BOGOFs so have put unused away til next week!
