hi i was wondering if you lovley ladies could help me i have never made any cards before and want to make my wedding invites but have no idea what i need to buy.

I want to make something similar to these http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.kookykards.com/wedding_cards_2/card9.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.kookykards.com/wedding_card_20.htm&usg=__e3ndtjcdRImZMCgVCmWD8c-JsPM=&h=603&w=400&sz=71&hl=en&start=10&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=Kdhfp6gUFaDKyM:&tbnh=135&tbnw=90&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgatefold%2Bwedding%2Binvitations%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26tbs%3Disch:1

Is it better to buy just card and fold it myself or by them ready folded and what paper do i need for the inside i want to print them on the printer?

    Am so clueless lol

Hi Joanne! Welcome to the most expensive thread on here :rotfl:
It really depends how many you're going to have to make and whether you're going to start card making.

You can get gatefold card blanks here to give you an idea of price and you would need to figure out how much ribbon you would need per invite - you can get rolls on Ebay and well as the die cut hearts and sticky peel off wedding wording - might be worth getting the hearts first and then physically going somewhere like Hobbycraft to buy the ribbon to make sure it matches (not the cheapest option but is better than having to buy more than one roll.

Depends what you want inside for the wording but if you were just going to attach a panel in the middle section I'd just go for something like Tesco finest printer paper - there are loads of free sites that do invite wording.

Hope that helps - if you need any more info give us a shout and one of us will try and help as we're also the friendliest board on the forum :D

I dont need the hearts and ribbion to match as was thinking about punching the hearts out at the bottom instead of sticking them on.

i need about 30ish for day invites then for evening i was goin to do the same just smaller and was needing about 40 - 50 for them

I have a look on ebay now thanks x
  • Thanks for the congratulations! I got details about the challenge today and have to make something by 10th July. I've got the perfect idea involving sweeties :D (shame I can't eat them though)

I tried Wild Orchid Crafts for mulberry paper roses but they're are out of stock of white buds and haven't replied to my emails or answer the phone! :( Mulberry Crafts UK halso have no white buds lol. Might have to resort to a trip to Hobbycraft...

    xx
