Hi Everyone, I spent ages last night looking for some adhesive gems on a card that I was convinced I had bought. It was only when I had woken up this morning I remembered I had bought the non adhesive ones in a packet and then found them stragiht away. Does anyone else do things like this? lol x

All the while :D! Mind you I'm getting on a bit now. ;) I'm going downhill fast.

  • Blooger is down for me :( The one time i have chance to sit down in ages and blog stuff as well typical. Iv'e got another craft fair this weekend. I shared a table last week with my friend and both of us got some orders so that was good as it was sort of like we were competition at times.

Customers would come over and talk to me and she would shove one of her leaflets in their hand so then they would move over to her things. So i had to start doing it too lol. I am a tiny bit annoyed about the one i am doing at the weekend as i told her about it ( i didn't think there would be any stalls left so late) and she rang up the organiser and got a table.

She also asked to be put next to me. I don't mind and it is great to have someone to talk to but as we both do baby things i don't think we should be put next to each other. Should i email the organiser? I Don't want to come across as demanding. I am a regular stallholder and my friend is new to all this, She even sent a letter of complaint about lack of visitors to our last fair even though she got orders.

i just don't want the organisers to be put off in any way due to her actions, as you can so easily be took the mailing lists around here.

It's a difficult one isn't it? Because on one hand you want the business and on the other you don't want to loose your friend. But i think you should try and tell her she is annoying you, maybe do it in a jokey way

Personally i would email the organiser, but i don't know what i would say, maybe that you think it would be unfair to the customers as you both sell the same thing. i know when i go to markets etc i like to have a look and go away and think about it and have a look to see if the similar stalls are as good as the first one IYSWIM.

Maybe you could do a special on your items, something like buy 1 get 1 half price to attract the customers to you. Or do pamper hampers for mums to be or something like that too. But obviously don't tell her that

I think she has a nerve to complain, especially as she got orders.

Also i don't like to be 'hassled' when i'm browsing, that puts me off. So maybe make a point of that to her.

Anyway i hope i have helped in some way :o
  • Thanks i think i will email them then. We don't do the same things at all so that isn't the problem but i think i def lost some customers as she drew their attention away.
I will also get there early so i can see where our tables are and maybe try and change them with the organiser if i feel she has a better one. Sounds awful doesn't it. I am not being mean as i do really want her to do well but i want to do well to. I helped her so much with setting up her business in the first place.

  • Elysia, we went to Costa Rica, rainforests, cloudforests and some beaches, was really good and a load of diverse things to see

Have caught up on my cleaning and washing so hopefully will get some crafting done tomorrow
  • kms26 you can stamp with distress inks and colour them in with promarkers as the ink is dye based. you can also use a water brush to colour them in with. You can use a made up sponge or foam and dab in the ink to rub around toppers or cards. You also get some directions on the back of the pads too x
Hmmm will add up debt and stick on on later!
  • Am blogging fed up - sat down for a little blog hop and keep getting all sorts of 5h1te and can comment on absolutely nowt

Big thank you Rainmac for my swap card and goodies - will get my swaps sorted tomorrow - am a very disorganised bear this week - blame it on that flowery girly card I made having obviously nicked Dragons mojo :rotfl::rotfl: will send it back as using all those flowers was weird :D

Talking of which ordered from Iamroses - don't panic only those big flat ones that I use occasionally - was £2 for 10 on Ebay - got 100 for £3 and arrived in a week from Thailand have loads of those gorgeous roses you lot use in lots of colours.

big hugs choccy what a nightmare wait and to anyone else in pain - nothing worse - my shoulder has been fine touch wood :p

Little claire is sending a free stamp out with orders of £25 before Friday - Martha Stewart edge punches are only £12.50 there.

I get my mulberry paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I did try the flowers from i am roses, but the quality of the Wild Orchid Crafts flowers is a little bit better, I found, and they have a wider selection of colours and flowers to choose from. They're also cheaper than i am roses and they're based in the UK, so delivery is quicker. Hope you don't mind, just thought I'd share my experience.

BTW, thanks for the tip about the Martha Stewart punches, I'm off to have a look now.

Thanks Madfrog. Sorry I was being nosey. You recommend it then? My sister is a fanatic traveller and is always on the lookout for somewhere new. ;)

I've just been looking on ebay for some crafty bits, I don't have many embellishments. I've just seen this. If this is the price a card goes for on ebay, I'm going to try my best to make better cards. :D Edited to add: My goodness me - It's only a TOPPER!!!
