Making cards - Ideas for beginners (part 4)

I don't know if anyone remembers me mentioning the fete I am going to for the charity I work for at the weekend. I said I was making some cards to sell.
Well I wrote to a load of companies where I live and asked if they would donate some raffle prizes. We've had some great ones!- A meal for 4 plus a bottle of wine at a quite posh restaurant where a main meal can be about £20 each.
- A use of a spa and a gym for a week
- Three rose bushes
- Four games of tenpin bowling
- Two tickets to the theatre
- £10 Tesco gift voucher
- Two meals to McDonalds
I would put the spa and the meal at the top, but can't decide between the two. I mean a week at a spa would cost HUNDREDS, so I think financially it's the best, and the one I would most want. But am I being biased? I can imagine a man winning it and being disappointed! There are no treatments included, but you can use the large swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, hydro-pool, etc.
So would you put as the first prize? The meal at a posh restaurant for four and a bottle of wine, or using a spa/gym for a week?
And for the rest of the rankings, I've put 3rd as the two tickets to the theatre, 4th four games of ten pin bowling, 5th the three rose bushes, 6th Tesco voucher and 7th McDonalds meals. Does everyone agree with that?"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Thank you! Oh, that's a shame - I need it much bigger. I have some specific things to put on it, and they're all quite big, so would need to be bigger.
Thanks for telling me the real name of them! That's why nothing was coming up. The problem if I buy it from Hobbycraft is that the postage is about £4 I think...and so I'd have to buy a load of things to justify it, and I already spent more money than I dare to work out on promarkers this month!!
If you have 2 card blanks the same size you can make your own tri fold by .... dead easy to do not so easy to explain....
take your 2 cards lay card 1 open flat out, open card 2 out and lay upside down on top of the right hand panel of the 1st card you should then have a zig zag card. tape/glue the center panels and "voila" bobs your uncle I THINK:rotfl:HTH0 -
Madfrog - I got your craft stash in the post! Thank you very much! I love the tree stickers, and all the little bits."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0

Hello ladies - hope you've been good while I've been away!
We've had a lovely couple of weeks in France - all very tired and nicely brown now. How I'm going to get the boys into bed at a reasonable time tonight I don't know!
I'm probably not going to attempt to completely catch up so hope all is well with everyone. I might sit down with a glass of wine and a pizza later...
I'm going to go to the Artisan Show nr Coventry if anyone is interested. I was going to go on the Sat but really want to do the alcohol inks workshop so think I'll go on the Friday. Mind you, there's a Distress Ink workshop on the Saturday I fancy too!0 -

Thank you! I think I get what you mean. I will give it a go."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Afternoon,
Finished painting the downstairs toilet and utility, looks much better now, OH did all the ironing while I was painting, have tidied up now and have cleaned out the kitchen cupboards as they were getting on my nerves so full of rubbish.
Nearly finished two cards so will b**g them later, having a quick play before I tidy up my craft room!0 -

Hiya
I would put the meal as the first prize, spa and gym use as second prize as the first prize should be appealing to everyone to sell more tickets!!!!The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -

Hello again everyone, I posted on this thread a while ago about wedding invites and I'm now mid trying to make them. I am making my own folders/pocketfolds for them with plain sheets of card but my glue roller isn't sticking them well enough and they keep popping open. Can anyone suggest a good strong glue or something to stick it down with
