Hi all
I'm going to stick my tuppence worth in re voting, hope you don't mind lol. I do think that the right to vote is a precious thing, as we see in countries where it is not a given.
To all those who say that they are not voting, I would urge you to go along and spoil your ballot paper (even write 'reopen nominations' or whatever), as this *does* send a certain message to the politicos, imho it is even more powerful than not voting.
But this is just a suggestion for those who *would* like to vote and just don't feel that any candidate is worth voting for. Hope I haven't offended anyone.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I agree with you. I don't mind so much if the party I support don't get in if the will of the country, not just a few of us, is represented. Understanding these things and voting is part of responsibility, not just for ourselves/family, but our society.
And fashionisti are certain to be the best dressed there!0 -
Hey All!
Sorry you're stressed, Lost. I'm running on manic auto-pilot mode, being even more lively and smiley than usual...I'm probably irriting the hell out of everyone.
Love the skirt, Bronnie. I can see it with a pretty cotton camisole top and some espadrilles...gypsy chic. Great bargain.
Kandi - I bought the Easy Living mag for my mum, she had the issue with the Cath Kidston wash bag last year. It'll make a decent hospital laundry bag, bit more cheerful than the grey polythene one they provide.
PirateFairy - I struggled with the 5 characters challenge, there's so many to choose from, I hope Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe), Alfie (Michael Caine), Armand (Antonio Banderas in Interview with the Vampire) and Sgt Telford Winter (Daniel Craig in The Trench) aren't too upset I didn't pick them.
C*ap news from the hospital but at least I finally have it from the experts so to speak. Thanks for all your support, it's easier to share my grief by typing than speaking.

Hello people
Been a bit busy & absent recently so i've not posted but ive read a few pages
Happy belated birthday to people
I've had an annoyingly stressy couple of weeks
I'll start with good things though... i bought some pretty earrings last week and have my eye on pretty things in the museum/art gallery shop. They have an acrylic cupcake necklace which is cute! Birthday's next month and hoping i dropped enough hints lol. If not i'll be a bit more blatant :P
And for stressy things... sorry... just feel like complaining and i think OH has had enough of it
Ive got lots of work on and my plans to get big chunks out the way have been completely wrecked this week by group work because the other members of my group were really lazy. Were supposed to meet at 11 to put our individual finished bits together but i was the only one who'd actually done it and other people didnt finish til 6pm (after begging an hours extension) and i did all the bits we were supposed to do together on my own. Also at least one person was at least half an hour late to any meeting (normally more!)
And i have a driving test next friday which would be fine but my instructor's gone on holiday today til tues and didn't think to tell me until 4 days after i left messages to book a lesson. I either have to assume it'll be ok or cancel it by mon because tuesday is too late to cancel/rearrange without losing the £62 test fee
Right... sorry about that!
Been to vote this afternoon. Luckily the polling station is pretty much next door.
goan, sorry about the bad news. Hope you're coping as well as you can.0 -
Voted - it was dead quiet but I suppose most people go in the evening after work.
Think I'm in PMS land as I found it quite emotional - the responsibility of it (not that my one wee vote makes all that much difference, but every vote counts) and thinking of all those women who worked so hard for the right to vote. Tears welling up again - def PMS!
xx
Gald its not just me who gets emotional over little(ish) things like this, my Mam always says its important for all women to vote to echo what you have said.0 -
Phew just read back as not been on for a few days - apart from the above, if I don't quote straight away I tend to forget what I wanted to say.
Sorry to hear the news wasn't good Goan.
Miserable weather here got soaked picking DS1 up from school as Peter Kay would say it was 'th fine rain that get's you wet' we were truly soaked, just had a bath then waiting for DH to go to work so I can have a 30 minute stint on the Wii.
Slummed it in jeans today -getting quite bad at this, will have to have a look in my wardrobe as I always find this inbetween sesons a bit tricky, feel a bit daft in a maxi and sandals if it starts to rain.0 -
Evening,
Have just skimmed today's posts I'm afraid - but hugs to those that need them, I'll read back properly tomorrow to catch up.
Off for a cheapie meal with a friend (tenner a head for 2 courses each and a bottle of wine to share, in quite a funky place as well - bargain) then the Kick-A** film.
Have brought my digital camera with me today - xmas pressie still unused in its packaging. Friend's going to help my buy a memory card. I know it shouldn't be difficult but Im pretty clueless when it comes to technology. Just need somone to tell me what to do/buy.
