we all know i'll be frowned upon because i'll turn up in my pink croc-skin gladiator sandals lol
I want walking boots that make me feel style wise like I'm...a medieval pilgrim, or a cowboy whose lost their horse, or an elf traveling through woods to elfland...but feel good and supportive. I don't really want to look like a hill walker while walking hills or a rambler while rambling.0 -
I may try Lidl then, that sounds good. thanks for the tip.
And you should always be so individual PF... I like to think Of guide leaders/helpers dressed in the sort of stuff you would wear to a festival. Everyone survives in amazing outfits at festivals in all weathers so i'm sure it's appropriate for guide camp:D.
And yes i think walking boots are way too sensible too..
now must drag my slovenly self away to the shower and get myself dressed since Daisy's outfit sounds so lovely, it's inspiring me.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

i wouldnt' mind so much if they weren't so damn unflattering..walking boots, and trousers etc etc
my tent is a cath kidston floral one..i like to stand out..new DC doesn't know this yet, but she has known me for yrs, so i'm sure she'll be expecting somehting like that lol..0 -
<< is also listing things on Ebay ....... ughhhhhhhh ! Also not sure what to do with the stuff that doesn't sell this time. I don't want it hanging about much longer TBH so might just freecycle it as a job lot.
I do have some clothes in various sizes (8-20 !) so if anyone is interested I'd be happy to take pics and send them on if anyone wants them?
What I do is list it twice if it doesnt sell it goes in the charity bag...this only tends to happen to stuff thats only worth a few quid anyway.**"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin."**0 -

but this year i have to do my camp licence for my own unit, and then we're going on a week long 3counties one for the centenary year, and i have to plan a weekend one in may for the girls who've never camped before to get used to it..
the easter one is only one night - im starting to fill the forms in and wonder if it's more trouble than its worth lol..
if we weren't so far, you'd be werlcome to camp with us
and ive never owned a pair of walking boots, when i go with my old guides, it's either wellies or glad's or bare feet - i still don't do trousers even on camp, hence my guide nickname being tinkerbell as i turned up for the first one in a fairy-esque dress (strraight from my day at college lol)..
but the woman who's my new DC is very "old skool" guiding iykwim..and i know she'd frown upon unsuitasble footwear as much as she does upon "uniform policy", "not having enough structure in meeting times" (!) and being generally not as organised as her..i fear she forgets she asked me to take this unit on as she already has one of her own, and is DC so didn't want to ghave to organise another..(in which case, why tell me im doing it wrong?!)
ok, sorry, dull rant over..
Ah the old fuddy duddies. The woman who assessed me for my camp licence nearly failed me because a) we didn't have prayers down on the programme and b) the girls weren't in full uniform at all times!
*insert rolly eyes smiley here*
Wellies should be fine and skirts are more practical on camp a lot of the time - midgets like me always seem to end up with soaking wet trouser hems!0 -
Morning all.
Had a bad morning! My veins weren't playing along but the nurse finally got some blood out on the 4th attempt.
Was at TKmaxx for opening time in the pouring rain and managed to get my Hunters. They're original black ones and so comfy. They were £30, but usually £60-70 so i'm quite pleased. I'll just have to be very money careful in March. However I do walk the dog daily so I can maybe justify them as a need..
I'll try catch up with all the chat while I finish my Galaxy.0 -
tsabo- eek to bad veins, I've got bloods due soon, I've had a break lately due to my veins being awful, so I literally feel your pain!
Hurrah for wellies!

lol..im usually found in wellies if its raining, otherwise bare feet usually..and a skirt / dress and leggings..far more practical IMO, as you say..
lol, i hope i don't get anyone horrible like that..as i'm fairly relaxed when it comes to uniforms at meeting times, i can't see them being in full uniform the entire time..we usually say to arrive and leave camp, rough clothes in between, or the tops get ruined, which is not good when they are so pricey...0 -
Oh and as soon as I got my wellies my umbrella broke. Karma is telling me to have a bath and get back in my pjs before work tonight.0
