Hey all.
Urrrrgh! Its been SO long since I posted on here. I'm sorry I was away for so long!!!
My reason for posting is that I was looking for motivation & inspiration the other day and thought others might be too.
Firstly here is a catch-up and a bit of background - sorry if it's long! Up until November 09, I was on here every day and had been tackling my debts since Nov 2007. I was desperate to make the 'debt free before 2 years' mark that I'd set myself.
I didn't make it. I was really really annoyed, I still am. In November I was about £1000 off being debt free. I had been working 2 jobs - 6/7 days a week for 2 full years since my LBM. I was getting to the point of being utterly burned out. I pushed myself to keep going saying I'd have to wait longer if I worked less.
Then after a week of finding it almost impossible to get up because I was so tired, getting bad news, having a poor review at my main job (because I was so tired) I snapped - and handed in my resignation at my main job. No notice, just walked out. They have been nice enough to give me an amazing reference as they understood my situation.
I had created such a strict budget that I could easily live off my evening job and still have £150 per month for debts + myself. But I was now about 10 months away from being debt free. I spent 2 weeks at home just resting in the daytime, spending time with family and friends, exercising, socialising - having a life and just working evenings.
I enjoyed Christmas to its fullest, which meant my debts went back up. I had given so few presents for the previous 2 years, I forgot how nice it was, even though I shouldn't have. Then in Jan I started looking for another job and I started contracting a couple of weeks later. I'm now looking forward to my first pay packet which is double what I was previously earning but I have a LONG commute each day. I booked a bargain holiday for me & my bf as his 30th birthday present. (First proper hol in 5 years!) He also had been working hard in 2 jobs for the last 10 months so he really deserved it. This also meant my debts have gone back up. I've had to work a six weeks without pay so far and have been spending a fortune on petrol daily.
I'm starting to regret quitting my main job despite now having a full income again.
I'm desperate to get back into the Debt-Free mindset and to STOP my debts growing again. I'm now back to being £4900 in debt.
I had better start by changing my signature!!
I found these inspirational videos the other day which put this all into perspective. I thought I'd share them with you all. (Both require sound)

Does anyone else have maybe a quote, poem, picture, song or video, that helps them along the way??? I thought we could make a collection of inspirational things. A one stop shop when we need cheering up or just a kick up the back-side.
I know it would do me the world of good!
I hope a few of you will join me in creating the ultimate motivational thread!!!!:j
Thanks!
