    If you cant get the loan written of, and as above you said you would be transfering money into you MIL account to pay the loan. Why dont you and your wife get a loan to pay the amount of and take it on? So save the problem with MIL.

    Obviously this is worse case senario as a last resort move.

    Like I said before - we tried and were refused a loan from several places.
