Pay Service charges until exchange or completion?

Options
Hi,

Hopefully if my lodgers mortgage and mine continue to go to plan we will be exchanging at the end of march to set a completion date of 31st may.

My only question is when will the service charge need to be paid up to?

Will it be on completion date?, and then from when we exchange at the end of march than I can contact local council and ask what's needed (if anything) to ensure I pay up to 31st may?

Regards

BW

The house is not sold until completion, so I think you need to continue paying the service charge until then. The house legally doesn't belong to the buyer until the completion takes place, so why would he have to pay for the service charges before that date?

You will be paying council tax, etc until the day of completion.

No problem, that's what I thought anyway, I just wanted to confirm it.
