Calm down people...even if you do place an order in a few days you'll get an email from them saying your items were out of stock! and your order has been cancelled.

That's what they ALWAYS do...!

Yes i have heard alot of people saying this,i must have been really lucky as i have ordered loads from them this year and have received everything.Fingers crossed this time too, nothing to lose from trying and maybe a bargain to gain.

I think the problem occurs when more than one person bus the itme at the same time, the system takes a few moments after purchase to update the item leaving a very very small time gap for others to be able to get through to checkout. Although if you have got through to checkout and someone else completes theirs first then it wont inform you annoyingly.

Sorry to hear you had problems, I have never had a probem with receiving sale items from Debenhams myself but I must admit when clearance sales like this are advertised on MSE you instantly know that there is a much higher chance of getting that out of stock email.

I would say if like many you found out they put the last of their stock on clearance today from MSE, then you should be thanking the OP and have a 'you win some you lose some' attitude.

You gotta let your fingers fly at light speed and not think twice about ordering :rotfl:

ooh ,just got a betty jackson coat for £24.i love Debenhams clearance, but not sure my bank account will agree.

I wish you hadn't said that... I just went back on the site and bought a Betty Jackson coat for myself too. It's your fault!!! :D Although having spent £54 worth of stuff (full price £200) on other people for their pressies this year, perhaps I deserve it really :).:T

I was under the impression that Debenhams was similar to Marks with their ordering system in that it's not updated in real time (i.e. it's a number of hours behind stock wise)
I guess working on that theory no wonder so many get OOS items since somebody could have completed their purchase on your item the night before!

I have a hope for the best attitude really with Debenhams :o
  • I phoned Debenhams last week to ask about their stock ordering system, they had said that their system has been updated since problems people had a while back, it does take a few minutes or possibly five in real time for the system to update itself but the item will say 'item no longer available' when trying to add it to your basket if it has been bought already after the short delay. Items tend to remain on the website when they are out of stock for a while though which can be annoying.

I think most will be pleasantly surprised that they receive all their orders considering most items were only one in stock and I hope you do too as there were some amazing bargains to be had.

I bought a red herring bird cage umbrella (love it) and some gorgeous earrings £5.16 down from £38.00 lovely, hope I get them though :p Not sure how much Quidco saves me but I am a very happy bunny,

  • I've ordered a fair bit this 'sale' too, and received everything except one scarf which they infact charged me for, but refunded right after. I wasn't too bothered as I liked the other one I ordered more.

In previous sales I'd only ever receive half or what I ordered if that.
  • I managed a £250 spend at around 3pm. Thanks OP!!

Including two lovely looking leather jackets - one must go back (honestly!). And a fab looking purple coat. And loads more...

Whilst trying to check out, first two things went oos, then another. It was faster fingers after that, but managed to complete on 17 items to try on, only one for DD!
