in Cutting tax
Hi all
I finished work in April last year, With PILON etc i earned £5214 and paid £1246 tax. I haven't worked since then. I sent off a P50 a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything. Will i be eligible for a rebate - if so can anyone estimate how much. Also, how long does it take to hear about these things from HMRC??
Many thanks for any help
Hayley

Just checked on our tax software at work and personal allowance was £6035 for 2008/09 so as long as you had no other income for that year and everything fell into 5.4.09 then you should get all the tax back as you could earn £6035 before you needed to pay tax.0

Thanks..My last day was 17.04.09 and i got 8 weeks PILON so i guess i would be looking at Year 2009/10, Is that right (i am sorry, i am clueless when i comes to tax)
Many Thanks again0 -
they do take a while when they owe you money
- I would chase it up. 0 -
did you get a P60 for 08/09 ?
they would probably give you a P60 for 08/09 which you would take the figures from and then a P45 with a bit on it for the period 6.4.09 - 17.4.10 which covers the few days up to leaving.
Either way, you are well covered by personal allowance.0 -
You wont get a P60 as you were not employed at 5 April 09. However, did you claim JSA, as this has to be taken into account.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0

Repayment claims through the post, you should expect to receive a reply with 5/6 weeks from when you sent it in.
Whats PILON, if thats all your income then you'll be entitled to all the tax backHe's not an accountant - he's a charlatan0
